Pre-Purchase Inspection in Pullman, WA
Eight minutes from the WSU campus. Pullman turns over a large number of privately sold used cars twice a year, most of them sold as-is between people who are not mechanics. An inspection before the money moves is the only real protection either side has.
The Pullman Market
Pullman is not a normal used-car market. It has a calendar. Around graduation in May and June a wave of cars goes up for sale as students leave town, and in August another wave changes hands as students arrive and need something to drive. Both waves are dominated by private-party sales — no dealer, no warranty, no recourse, and frequently a buyer and a seller who are both taking the other's word for it.
What We Look For Here
Student-owned cars in Pullman accumulate a specific kind of wear that has very little to do with mileage. Two patterns come up again and again, and both are checkable.

The inspection is $250 flat, whatever the car is. If you are elsewhere in the region, the main inspection page covers the same service, and the Service Areas page has drive times from across the Palouse.
